No prior experience is necessary – we provide comprehensive training to ensure you’re equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to make a difference;

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
  • Provide logistical support to firefighters and other emergency services
  • Assist with incident management and coordination
  • Participate in community education and awareness programs
  • Support Brigade operational requirements
REQUIREMENTS;
  • Members need to be 16+ years old
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Have access to a smartphone
  • Have transport
  • Be able to work in a dynamic environment
  • Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Be willing to undergo training and induction programs
  • Be committed to attending regular Brigade activities
  • Be available for monthly roster
READY TO JOIN?;
 To become a member of our team, follow these steps;

  2. Once your application is received you will be invited to attend an information session to learn more about our brigade, our roles and responsibilities on the fire ground and what to expect as a Brigade member.
  3. Interview and Assessment; after completing 4 visits to the Brigade which may consist of a combination of meetings, trainings and/or maintenance sessions, you will participate in an interview with the Brigade Captain and a representative where a Brigade membership may be offered.
  4. Interested candidates submit a membership form to join our Bush Fire Brigade.
  5. Background checks; all new members will be subject to background checks to ensure suitability for the role which includes a police clearance and possibly a medical if required.
Training and Induction;
 
If your application is successful, you’ll undergo comprehensive training and induction covering:
  • Brigade operations and protocols
  • Emergency response procedures
  • Firefighting techniques and safety
  • Communication and teamwork skills
